MASTITIS

• Inflammation of breast as a result of infection; observed in breastfeeding mothers 2-3 weeks postpartum.
• Main nursing diagnosis: Pain related to infectious process.
• Nursing care includes: Antibiotic therapy, Provision of comfort ( support bra, heat or cold application, analgesics), maintaining lactation, breast care, infection precaution.
