AFTERBIRTH PAINS

• A result of intermittent uterine contractions after delivery.
• Most common in multiparas, breastfeeding mothers, client with oxytoxic drugs, and with overdistended uterus during pregnancy.
• Early ambulation and frequent voiding are encouraged to decrease pain sensation and make the contraction more effective.
• Extreme discomforts while breastfeeding is resolved by giving analgesic 30mins before feeding.
